I always knew yoga was for me. Growing up I had read of the mental and physical benefits that a yoga practice brings, I knew that one day I would try it. Having grown up never taken part in sports or dance, it also appealed that there were enough styles available and that I would find one that suited my level of fitness! One day, I had enough of my monkey brain and decided to go for it. After trying various forms, I found Bikram & it's in the hot room that I made the biggest steps towards calming my mind and opening my stiff body.
Five years of regular practice passed, and having worked an office job for years I felt it was time for a change. What fueled the change was that inside I knew that I wasn’t fulfilling my potential - that there was more I could be inspired by. So I took a big step in a direction that already made me happy, and here I am, teaching for Fierce Grace. The truth of the matter is that there is nothing more important in my life than yoga. Everything else, the relationships, career, health and achievements all seem to fall in place when I commit to my mat. I believe the same is true for everyone. So if you’re like me and not sporty, I’d urge you to give it a go, see what happens and take pleasure in noticing your mind and body change.
The Fierce Grace system, with its variety of classes, caters for all body and personality types. It is lead by a passionate team of yogis who believe in supporting an individual to bring balance to their mind and body through movement. It's not just about bending but creating a space where people can be themselves, whatever that is. Experiencing this acceptance myself and seeing it develop in others is why I teach.
