You will gallop on elegant Arabians across some of Egypt’s most breathtaking landscapes—from the surreal, chalk-white formations of the White Desert to the volcanic wonder of the Black Desert and across Pyramid landscapes. Riding, combined with carefully curated Fierce Grace yoga sessions led by Tuuli Shipster will ensure you feel enraptured by your rides, yet relaxed and rejuvenated.
This experience is for…
- Adventurous riders as well as non-riders, seeking a unique and exclusive experience. We have partnered with Ride Egypt, the only supplier in Egypt offering Bahariya, and the Black and White Deserts as riding destinations.
- Nature lovers who are ready to unplug—this isn’t the place for guaranteed Wi-Fi or phone signal.
- Riders: Experienced riders capable of controlling a spirited horse in open landscape. Comfortable with longer hours in the saddle and who value a closer connection with their horse.
- Non-Riders: Enjoy the stunning scenery in the comfort of 4 wheels by 4 x 4’s, instead of four hooves! Be part of the group sightseeing the spectacular sights. Enjoy the yoga classes, Pyramids and natural Hot Springs.
- Yoga Lovers: Partake in the acclaimed Fierce Grace yoga classes designed to improve hips, legs, lower back and spinal alignment. Suitable for complete novices to advanced.

Itinerary
Day 1: Morning Arrival in Cairo and Transfer to Bahariya Oasis.
Your journey begins with a morning arrival in Cairo.
If you’re flying in the night before, you’ll have the option to join a bonus morning ride in Giza (£65 supplement). After the ride, we’ll gather for a welcome lunch at Pyramid Edge hotel at 12pm.
Shared minibus transfers will depart from the Pyramid Edge Hotel at approximately 1:30pm. Rooms at the hotel can be rented by the hour for early arrivals needing to rest or freshen up. Private transfers are also available on request. The journey to Tzila Desert Lodgetakes around 3.5 hours.
Upon arrival, settle in, join an optional yoga session to unwind after your journey followed by a delicious dinner.
The Bahariya Oasis is a lush paradise, filled with swaying palms, fruit trees and natural springs just waiting to be explored. The stables are conveniently located right next to the Lodge making it easy to bond with your horse throughout your stay. When not riding, you can chill out in the pool or simply take in the peaceful beauty of your surroundings. Throughout your stay, you’ll enjoy delicious organic, homegrown and locally sourced food to complement your journey through these ancient, poetic lands.
Day 2: Sunrise Yoga, Black Desert Ride, Afternoon relaxation, Evening Stretch then Dinner under the Stars.
The day begins with a sunrise yoga session, inviting you to move, breathe and find your centre as the desert wakes around you.
After breakfast you’ll meet your horse and saddle up for a half-day ride through the striking landscape of the Black Desert. Volcanic black hills, dark against the sand, rise in quiet contrast, shaped by ancient eruptions and scattered with basalt outcrops that shimmer under the sun.
Those not riding will explore the same terrain by 4x4, taking in the vastness and strange beauty of the remote region from a different perspective. Enjoy a delicious lunch, followed by an afternoon of relaxation.
As the day winds down, enjoy a relaxing deep stretch session beneath the stars. As night falls, we’ll gather for a magical dinner and campfire.
Day 3: Sunrise Yoga and Full-Day Ride in the White Desert. Optional Camping.
Begin your day with a refreshing sunrise yoga session. After a traditional breakfast of eggs, Egyptian breads, tomatoes, falafel, cucumbers and beans, and sweet treats, you’ll have the rare opportunity to do something very few have ever experienced: explore the breathtaking White Desert on horseback (non-riders will experience this by 4x4).
Riders and non-riders all travel by 4x4 to the White Desert.
This area is a natural wonder, a surreal world of chalk formations sculpted by centuries of wind and sandstorms. These natural
masterpieces rise from the desert floor like frozen waves, towering mushrooms, and surreal sculptures. Some describe it as an “outdoor museum of contemporary art”.
Along the way, we pause for a delicious, freshly prepared lunch, cooked by our team and local Bedouins, offering you an authentic taste of desert hospitality.
As the sun sets, you can return to your comfortable lodge or opt for the optional one night camping under the White Desert stars (extra charge: £100 per person).
Day 4: Jeep Safari, Crystal Mountain and Natural Hot Springs. Departure to Cairo with Evening Yoga by the Pyramids.
In the morning, Desert dwellers will take a magical sunrise yoga session in the moonscape of the White Desert.
We trade horseback for 4x4’s and head further into the Desert to experience the most spectacular landscapes. One of the highlights
of our journey is a stop at Crystal Mountain— a natural formation of shimmering quartz, glistening under the sun like a mountain of diamonds.
Following our Jeep safari, you will have a chance to relax in Bahariya’s
famous therapeutic hot springs, known for their soothing and healing properties. Afterwards, you will return to your lodge for lunch to prepare for your journey back to Cairo.
You will arrive in Cairo late afternoon to settle in and relax. Enjoy a floor based class to unwind after your journey – set against the
iconic backdrop of the Great Pyramids of Giza. As the sun sets, let the ancient energy of this historic site inspire and uplift you.
You will stay overnight in a hotel overlooking the Pyramids in preparation for the grand finale of your adventure.
Day 5: Riding in the Shadows of the Pyramids, Lunchtime Yoga & Grand Egyptian Museum Visit.
Ending your mini break with a bang – Cairo is the ultimate destination for Egyptology and the history of the Pharaohs. And what better
way to end this adventure than with a trail ride at the foot of the Great Pyramids of Giza?
After lunch, you will visit the newly inaugurated Grand Egyptian Museum, one of the largest archaeological museums in the world, showcasing a vast collection of artifacts spanning ancient Egyptian history. Visitors can expect to see treasures such as the belongings of King Tutankhamun and other iconic artifacts that have been meticulously preserved and displayed for public viewing.
Enjoy an early evening yoga session before our final dinner together.
Day 6: Check Out and Departure.
After breakfast, it’s time to check out and say goodbye. You’ll leave with unforgettable memories of Egypt’s breathtaking landscapes, rich culture, dreamy horses, and revitalising yoga sessions.

What People say
Natasha Bloom, Spain Retreat
"I felt like a child rather than a 40-something! One of the key things that makes Michele’s yoga holidays stand out is the freedom to be yourself, indulge yourself and take part or sit out in a no judgement environment. On the final night there was a banquet and party that sent us home the next day on a high with fond memories, new friends and in my case a teeny weeny hangover! I’d highly recommend this retreat, you won’t regret it."
Gavin Tilman
"I must be enjoying Michele's retreats as I keep coming back - I have done six retreats in total, in Turkey, Spain, Tuscany and South India - twice a year some years. Each retreat includes a posture clinic, and in the regular classes you receive way more individual attention than you would receive back in London; my yoga practice has hugely benefited.
I also see it as one of my annual detoxes - the food is delicious but very healthy, and I invariably lose a decent amount of weight over each retreat, even though I'm no stranger to the bar while I am there. Indeed, it is no boot camp, the retreats always attract a lively bunch!"
Atif
“My week’s retreat is destined to be the first of many - I loved it. The individual attention to my postures has meant that suddenly I am seeing benefits I hadn't seen in a year. It has completely rekindled my passion and motivation to go to class regularly. From healthy, yummy food, to the stunning location - it was nourishment for the soul. Michele - thanks so much for your support. Not all teachers are good at understanding what impact people's body shape and size has on their practise. You really helped me move on and this yoga is genuinely life-changing for me - I'm finally re-establishing a relationship with my body.”
